Kickstarting your Online Business

A common question that I come across from family, friends and my ever so supportive customers is that, oh I always wanted to venture into a business especially now that going online is so convenient. However I  don't know where should I kick-start.

Trust me every successful entrepreneurs has once been in your shoes as well. Perhaps it is the phase that we all have to come in terms with. I strongly believe, 'If there is a will, there is a way'. Nothing can and nothing should stop you from giving it your very best shot. Besides, what is the worst that could happen?

Here is a short-list and a very basic one, on how can you make use of the opportunities present to you (dedicated to my fellow Malaysian readers).

The top 5 things you need to do to kick-start your online business.

1. Register your business. Many ask me why should I do so? Considering that having a dot com domain name or a facebook page does not require me to have the company registration details. Simple - I will be sharing with you a couple of opportunities present for Malaysian entrepreneurs, you will only be able to enjoy any of these if you are a registered business.

2. Get your Facebook Fan Page up: Yes you can own the page for FREE, and has a very simple setting up process. If you could spare the time to create your personal profile, then this should be a piece of cake. Bear in mind while choosing the name choose it wisely that can be searched easily and reflects what service or products you are offering.

3. Get your FREE Website: Yes you read that correctly, you have the opportunity to own a website for FREE. With the initiative by Google Malaysia with the joint venture by Malaysian Commission Multimedia Communications, over the past year there has been great initiatives to help Malaysian business get online easily. They even provide you with a domain name at a very much subsidized rate of RM23 only.

The website is a basic tool to help you kick-start, once you are able to assess the profitability of your business, then you can consider investing into something high-tech with advances features. But for initial stages, make use of the resources present to you for FREE. In that way, you are able to lower your risks and put on the trial and error hat on. Get your website here

4. RM1000 Grants for grabs: It's the time of the year where it's all about free money from the government Yes that's right. Dedicated towards encouraging women entrepreneurship the government is giving us grants to help us kick-start and further grow your business. So even if you are still in the planning stage, I would strongly suggest for you to get your business registered and apply for the grant. Why should anyone in a proper state of mind say no to free money. Apply for your grant here

5. Dream, Read & Explore:  All the above is merely 1% of what you need to do. The journey officially only begins now. It is not an easy road, there will be rocks and loads of hurdles to overcome along the way. Keep yourself motivated, read books on successful entrepreneurship, be inspired and get inspired. Explore a variety of marketing strategies, and this can only be accomplished via the trial and error method. See what works out the best for you. And finally keep the dream alive and surround yourself with positive upbeat people who believes in you. Yes you can do it!

Most importantly enjoy this journey of Entrepreneurship! All the best!

Fabric Glue - The Magic Glue

The magic tool that I was so fascinated with. Ever since I was a little girl it was always my passion to bedazzle my very own outfits. And I was always encouraged by my mum who obviously shared the same passion as mine.

Arts was my most awaited subject at school. Not only did I complete the task given to me, I was often excited to complete my elder sister's art and project work as well, where creativity was involved. When we were little girls, we had this pact among us that, when she has a baby I will tutor her on art class and she will tutor my little one with maths (Yeah, I hated maths to the core and I still do - Thank god for the existence of excel and calculators)

Back to the magic tool - fabric glue. As much as I was in love with arts and creativity, the last thing I knew how to do was sew. Hence whenever it came to designing my outfits with patch, laces  I had to often visit tailors to get the work done. However, more than often I was a little disappointed when the quality of the work did not meet my expectations.

That's when I came across this wonderful product that makes life so easy and simple. Fabric Glue is one of its kind that it replaces stitching in many areas. The usage is numerous or shall I say the sky is the limit. It can be used for sticking beads, sequins, lace, ribbon, applique, patch, foil, mirror work, glitter dust to fabric.

As long as the base is from fabric to fabric, this glue can be used. It does a wonderful job to giving your outfit a glamours touch. The only down-side to the glue is that, sometimes it would leave a stain at the back portion of your outfit. Hence please ensure to always use a towel at the base of the outfit while using the glue. Not only that, only use the glue if you do not mind having the back portion of your outfit being stained. (Personal opinion, who cares if the back portion of your outfit is stained? No one is going to see the inside but yourself :)

The application is very simple. Spread a thin coat of fabric glue on the applique. Place the applique on the fabric and let it set for 10 minutes. Press the applique and fabric together using light pressure for 10 seconds. Allow if to dry for 24 hours before use. Yes it's that simple!

We have 2 size:
30 ml = RM12
20 ml = RM8
